Tension Weights
The tension weight is located in the area of the shaft pit. It keeps the speed limiter rope on tension by its mass and is monitored for slack rope formation by means of switches or whether the speed limiter rope extends excessively long. If the elongation is too long, the tension weight would be placed on the bottom of the pit and lose its tensioning function.
BODE offers a range of different tension weights for its speed limiters. These differ in the type of fixing, on the guide rail or at the bottom of the shaft, and in the area of application.
The BODE limiters are not differentiated whether they are used for triggering the safety catch downwards or upwards. However, this distinction is made in the case of the tension weights for fastening to the rail.

The product range comprises five types:
Type | Application | Weight (kg) | traction force of governor rope (kg) | Fixtures |
---|---|---|---|---|
SRV | catch downwards | 15 | Ø 200 = 40-75 Ø 300 = 40-60 |
guide rail |
The SRV tension weight is designed for systems with a safety catch acting downwards. The unit is mounted on the guide rail. The weight (15 kg) and the tension pulley can be moved on the support arm and thus adapted to the system. Depending on the position of the weight and the tension pulley, a traction force of 40 kg to 75 kg is achieved with the tension pulley 200 mm and 40 kg to 60 kg with the tension pulley 300 mm.

---|---|---|---|---|
SR/FO-V | catching up and down | 30 | Ø 200 = 53-122 Ø 300 = 65-91 |
guide rail |
The SR/FO-V tension weight is designed for systems with a safety catch that acts upwards and downwards. The unit is mounted on the guide rail. The weight (30 kg) and the tension pulley can be moved on the support arm and thus adapted to the system. Since the weight jumps upwards when released and thus does not generate the required engagement force, it is equipped with a restraint device. Depending on the position of the weight and the tension pulley, a tensile force of 53 kg to 122 kg is achieved with the tension pulley 200 mm and from 65 kg to 91 kg with the tension pulley 300 mm.

SGI-S | catching up and down | 65 | 65 | guide rail |
The deflection pulley of the tension weight SGI is integrated in the weight. The weight is attached to a guide rail. The mass of the weight (65 kg) acts directly on the limiter rope.

SGI | catching up and down | 65 | 65 shaft | Shaft floor |
The deflection pulley of the tension weight SGI is integrated in the weight. The weight glides vertically on a guide column, which is attached to the bottom of the shaft. The mass of the weight (65 kg) acts directly on the limiter rope.

SGI | catching up and down | 75 | 75 | Shaft floor |
The tension weight SGD is designed to accommodate the limiters or guide pulley type 7; 8 and 9. The weight consists of five weight plates of 15 kg each, which corresponds to a total weight of 75 kg. The weight container is guided vertically at two guiding angles. The mass of the weight (75 kg) acts directly on the limiter rope. The tension weight is attached to the bottom of the shaft. An auxiliary power emergency limit switch can be fitted as an option. Note: The limiters or guide pulleys must be fitted with a cover.
